  • 2011 Jewish Family Service Mother's Day Luncheon

    Jewish Family Service is holding our Annual Mother's Day Luncheon on May 4, 2011.  The event will be at Congregation Rodfei Sholom, 3003 Sholom Blvd., San Antonio, Texas 78230.  The doors open at 11:00 a.m. for silent auction viewing and the program and lunch begin at 12:00 p.m.

    This year the honorees are two sets of sisters, Idelle Abramson & Chickie Rose; and Susanne Jalnos & Ana Rado.  Each of these individuals have honored our community with their charitable contributrions of time, talent and treasures. 

  • JFS Grateful to Temple Beth-El and Golden Manor Jewish Seniors Services

    Jewish Family Service has maintained and expanded its Senior Case Management Services through the generous support both of the Kimmelman Charitable Fund of Temple Beth-El and Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services (GMJSS).   Because of this assistance, JFS has been able to respond to the rapidly growing number of seniors who need and deserve community support.  These seniors often face economic hardship, disability, or enormous stress related to mobility-impairment, home maintenance, transportation needs, medical emergencies, isolation, and mental illness.

    Jewish Family Service is pleased to announce the return of the JFS Mah Jongg Tournament.  Event date is Sunday, January 29, 2012 and will be in the Holzman Auditorium at the Campus of the Jewish Community.  Entry fee is $40.00.  The player catetories are Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.  Prizes for the winner in each category are $200, $100 and $75.00.  There will be coffee, tea, finger foods, door prizes, sishood and fun.  One door prize winner will win a beautiful personalized Mah Jongg set with carrybag.  Please make your reservation or address questio
