Seniors are Never Alone – JFS is Here to Help

Jewish Family Service (JFS) offers senior case management, senior transportation services, general case management and emergency financial assistance. The demand for Senior services has quadrupled in the past year, and eighty-five percent of these clients are Jewish.
Senior case management functions include assessing the needs of the clients, especially by visiting their homes; addressing identified needs and providing direct help with budgeting, decision making or just being a dependable ally and friend. JFS also coordinates with members of the Jewish community who can provide legal services such as the creation of wills and powers of attorney.
Bill McBroom, social services director said, “JFS often becomes the ‘family’ for isolated and physically ill seniors, especially those who are or have been hospitalized. I work with case manager Gadier Garcia and social work graduate students to help meet the needs of the growing number of seniors in the community who need our help.”
